Message Board

Several of you have asked for a message board in the web site. The easiest way to set this up was to create a blog for friends and members of the club committee. I'll put a link to the Blog on the site.

It is set up so that anyone can comment, but you need to be invited to make contributions. Click the CFC Bloggers link on the right to mail the Chairman and receive your invitation to join the blogging community at CFC. You will also need a Google Account - you will be invited to create one when you accept your invitation to join.

Don't worry - its all free! Anyone can look us up and read the blog without a Google Account. You can leave comments as well, so lets be hearing from you all.

  1. Hi Steve,

See separate email about the process involved.

Also how do we remove test entries, or in the future - expired or offensive entries?

  2. Chesterfield Folk Club provides information through many different channels.

Via it's own web site at www.ChesterfieldFolkClub.org which contains:
    - information about up coming events
    - a 'repository' for DIARY Events
    - - past promotional materials as FLIERS or ENEWS
    - - selected articles from the Derbyshire Times (DTIMES)
    - - selected articles about the previous ATTIC folk club.

Pre-event publicity is also provided to the local newspapers, radio stations, and various web sites who carry what's on information.

Printed Fliers and Posters are made available through Chesterfield's Tourist Information and Library and are also distributed at Club Events and at other folk events in the area.

In addition we regularly email ~900 organisations, their representatives and interested individuals about what we are doing.

Wallet sized calendar cards are also available.

Tickets can be bought at our concerts, via the website and through the tourist information office in Chesterfield.

  3. Hi,

If you haven't been to one of our 'Open Mic' "Let Me Entertain You" shows you have missed some great local, and not so local, talent.

We even had members of the Brampton Community Band turn up one evening after their regular practice session.

We have a stage, a PA system and a bar and are more or less 'private' in the 'top room' at Club Chesterfield.

On occasion we have had 12 entertainers have graced us with their acts which means if you come along for a good night out, (at £2 with free entry into the raffle included), you get a good variety and it has to be tremendous value for money.

If you want to see some of the best local talent around come along on the last Thursday of each month, (except December, July and August).

Doors open at 8pm with live performances starting any time after 8:15pm - finishing between 10:15 and 11pm dependant on whose in.
